Curriculum

We follow the curriculum prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India.

Medium of instruction is English. Hindi is the second language. From Class 9, French may be offered. Arabic is taught from Class 1.

Continuous Evaluation

Students’ achievements and skills in cognitive, physical, emotional, social and aesthetic areas are observed and recorded on a continuous basis.

Uniform

All students must attend school in the prescribed uniform.

Summer — Boys

Navy blue trousers (low-waist pants strictly not permitted), white full-sleeved monogrammed shirt, navy blue tie, black leather shoes with straps (up to Class 6) and with laces (Class 7+).

Summer — Girls

Navy blue monogrammed pinafore, white full-sleeved blouse, navy blue tie, black ballerina shoes, white calf-length socks, black ribbons or hair bands.

Winter

Navy blue blazers must be worn by both boys and girls.

Regular (Sun–Thu)

KG: 7:25 AM – 12:30 PM
Class 1–XII: 7:25 AM – 1:15 PM

Ramadan

KG: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Class 1–XII: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Office / Principal

Principal: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Office: Sun–Thu 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Examination

Promotion is based on performance in tests and examinations during the academic year.

Absence from a test/exam (except annual) on genuine grounds may be considered on merit.
A student who does not appear for the annual examination will not be promoted.
A student who fails twice in the same class must discontinue at UIS.
School decision on promotion/detention is final.
Unfair means result in failure in that subject and is recorded as misconduct.

Scholarship

UIS recognises outstanding academic and sporting achievement through scholarships and awards, including the Sports Scholarship. Details are announced through circulars and the school office.

Transportation

The school provides bus transport on designated routes. Route details and bus fees are available from the school office.

Students must carry their school ID card.
Safety and discipline rules apply on the bus at all times.
